Chien Ming, "Jimmy" Su, age 55 of Indiana, formerly of Tainan, Taiwan, died after a long battle with stomach cancer.

Jimmy was born in 1962 in Tainan to Wen-Te Su and Chin-Chuan Tseng Su.

He graduated with a degree in Art and Design. After completing his military service in Taiwan he began his own interior design company in Tainan. Shortly thereafter, he continued his success and became a partner in a design and construction company in Tainan in both residential and commercial markets. He was also known for his architectural renderings. Jimmy was proud of his heritage and enjoyed spending his time in the USA as well as traveling abroad.

After several years he sold his interest in the design and construction company and came to the USA to study "English as a Second Language" program both at University of Califormia at Berkeley, San Francisco, CA and Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Indiana, PA. While in Indiana he continued painting as an extension of his drawings, and established himself as a exhibiting artist in United States, Taiwan, and Europe. He was also an accomplished photographer.

Jimmy is survived by his spouse Charles Battaglini, Indiana; his parents of Tainan; one sister and one brother, Kuang-Hsin Su, Tainan; Kuang-Mei Su, Tainan; two nephews, Chung-Ting Huang; Yong-Hao Su, and by one niece Hsiao-Chi Su, all of Tainan, Taiwan.

He was preceded in death by his younger brother Michael Su.

A celebration of Jimmy's life and art will take place at The Artist Hand Gallery, 732 Philadelphia St., Indiana, on October 28th from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. Friends are welcome to attend.
