Charles Dean Rhea's Obituary

Charles Dean Rhea, age 86, of Indiana, died on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Beacon Ridge Nursing Home. He was born in 1929 in Indiana to Lyle Rhea. A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the US Army. Mr. Rhea attended the Crete Presbyterian Church and a former member of the VFW Post #1989. Dean was self-employed as a farmer for his entire life, and also cut timber for some of his life. He enjoyed antique tractors, raising horses, snowmobile riding, berry picking, and deer hunting. He is survived by one son - A. Glenn Rhea and wife Vivian, Indiana; four step-children - Lee Ann Roadman, Acme; Vicki Kristoff and husband Bob, Greensburg; Norman Stout and wife Dawn, Hunker; Lorri Hufford and husband Ron, Dawson; six step grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren. Dean was preceded in death by his parents, by his wife Mildred I. Mottern Rhea in 1999, two sisters and three brothers - Wallace Rhea, Alec Rhea, Frank Rhea, Mary George, and Alice Britton. Friends will be received on Saturday from 6 to 9 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. Private interment will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the VFW Post #1989 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, 100 Liberty Ave., Room 1606, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
