Brandon Robert Smart's Obituary

Brandon Robert "Smarty" Smart, age 32, of Marion Center, formerly of Plum, died Saturday, July 31, 2010 as a result of injuries sustained in a traffic accident. He was born in 1978 in Plum to Robert W. and Rebecca J. Leff Smart. Brandon was a graduate of Plum High School and attended IUP, where he was active in IUP Hockey Assoc., both as a player and coach. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his daughter, and with family and friends. He was employed at H.B. Culpeppers Restaurant for the past 14 years, most recently served as manager. Brandon is survived by his daughter Maylyn Rebecca, Marion Center; his girlfriend Kendra Snyder, Marion Center; his father of Plum; two sisters, Lauren Mannetti and husband Frank, Plum; Lindsey Smart and fianc Chris Moore, Plum; his aunt Donna Haines and her husband Neil, Plum; his cousin Patrick Haines and wife Mandy, North Huntingdon. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1996, and by his cousin Tracy McGuire in 2007. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 9 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 A.M. Private interment will be made in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Penn Hills.
