Obituary

Obituary for Blaine C. Elkin Blaine C. Elkin, 91, of Indiana, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2011 at his home. He was born in 1920 to Samuel C. and Emma G. (Good) Elkin in Smicksburg. Blaine was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Indiana, Indiana VFW Post 1989, American Legion, Indiana,. Blaine was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army Air Corps. He retired as a heavy equipment operater. Blaine enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Glenna Jean Elkin, Indiana; Four children, Blaina J. Huddleston, Colorado Springs, CO; William C. Elkin, and wife Shirley A., Indiana; Gerald G. Elkin and wife Sandra L., Boonsboro, MD; Leon D. Elkin, Indiana; seven grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Two brothers, Floyd Elkin, Marion Center; Ralph Elkin, Home; two sisters Stella Harvey, Northeast, PA; and Violet Moros and husband William, Mount Wolf, PA, and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all that knew him in his work and travels. He was preceded in death by his parents two sisters, Florence G. Bash and Aldeen M. Elkin, and two brothers, Clarence E. and Harold Elkin. Friends will be received from 12-2 PM, Wednesday at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana where a funeral service will be held at 2PM with the Rev. Greg Golden officiating. Interment will take place in Oakland Cemetery. Military Honors will be performed by the Indiana VFW Post 1989.
