Beverly H. Fazio, 89, of Indiana went on to her heavenly home on June 2, 2026. Beloved wife of the late Frank Fazio, devoted mother of Barbara (Marc) Harrold of Bethel Park, and Michael Fazio, Indiana. Cherished “Grandma B” to Daniel (Teresa) Harrold, Ian (Julie) Harrold, Nicholas (Lauren) Fazio, Nathan (Heidi) Harrold, and KC Fazio. Great-grandmother of Eliza, Francesco, Elliott, Flannery and Nina Beverly. Also survived by sisters-in-law, RoseMary Fazio and Donna Noel, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, H. Raymond and Barbara Herbert, and siblings Dennis Herbert, Sandy Porter and Randy Herbert.
Beverly was a generous, caring “people-person”, always ready to lend a listening ear or share words of encouragement. She thrived on planning and organizing get-togethers with family and friends, who fondly remember her attention to detail. Over the years, she was involved in a wide network of social and service groups, but especially dear to her heart were her friends from the Bridge and Pony card clubs. Beverly was a charter member of St. Thomas More’s prayer shawl ministry, leader of her Red Hat Society club, Board of Trustees member of the Indiana Free Library, member of the DAR chapter and IUP Women’s Club, to name a few. She was well-known for her vast Wise Men figurine collection and proudly displayed them every December. In their early retirement years, Beverly and Frank enjoyed the Ballroom Dance club, volunteering at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, and traveling widely, but grandparenting was always a special joy in their lives.
Beverly was born on November 2, 1936 in Vanderbilt, PA. After graduation from Dunbar Township High School in 1954 and California State Teachers College in 1957, she married college sweetheart Frank and moved to Aliquippa, PA. In between years of raising her young children, she was employed for a few years teaching English and Math at Aliquippa and Hopewell High schools. Later, she completed her Masters in Library Science at Duquesne University. In 1970, the family moved to Indiana, PA and she became the librarian at Homer-Center Junior-Senior High School, a position she held until retirement in 1996. In addition to librarian, she added on the role of Gifted Education Coordinator at Homer-Center where her dedicated expertise was honored with the 1984 Pennsylvania Gifted Teacher of the Year award. Both roles afforded her the opportunity to mentor and influence many Homer-Center graduates, and she was always proud to hear of their successes later in life.
