Obituary

Betty J. Selkirk came face to face with our Lord Jesus Christ on Friday May 2, 2014. She was born in 1937 to William J. and Kathleen G. (Hullihen) Cunningham in Washington, PA. Betty was a member of Tetelestai Church, New Kensington, the YMCA and the PSEA. She was a resident of Indiana, and worked as an adult education instructor with the ARIN Intermediate Unit for thirty years, until retiring this year. Betty enjoyed golf, yard work, being outdoors and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Betty was a loving wife, mother, dedicated teacher, who touched many lives. She worked with many individuals teaching adult education, and most recently retired from teaching GED classes at the Indiana County Jail. Betty is survived by her children - Lori Selkirk Steele and husband Richard and their children Kelsey and Kevin Steele, of Clarksburg West Virginia; Susan Selkirk Schessler and husband Michael, and their children, Matthew, his wife, Lisa, and Kate Schessler of Charleston West Virginia; John Davison Selkirk and wife, Janice, and their children, John David and Jared of Indiana, PA; Sally Selkirk Caldwell and husband David, and her children, Leo, Christopher, Alex and Nick Harkleroad of Royersford, PA; and Margaret Selkirk Miner, and her children, Rachel and Megan, of Denver Colorado; she is also survived by her sisters - Shirley Adams, Darlene Pone, Bill Cunningham and his wife Mary all of Levittown, PA and brother-in-law Jack Sarver of Pinckney, MI. Betty was reunited in the Lord with her husband, John Selkirk, her parents, Kathleen and William Cunningham and her sister Bonnie Sarver. A memorial service will be held on Friday May 9 at 11:00 AM at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. Friends will be received from 9 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
