Betty J. Brown Nanni's Obituary

Betty J. Brown Nanni, age 88, of Creekside, passed away Friday, February 20, 2015 at the home of her daughter. She was born in 1927 in Ernest to Charlton and Margaret Jones Brown. Mrs. Nanni was a member of the Church of the Resurrection, Ernest. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Betty was also co-owner and operator of Nanni's Restaurant and Bar in Creekside for many years. Betty is survived by two sons and three daughters - Anthony "Butch" Nanni and wife Kathy, Indiana; Cathy Chiplis and husband Chuck, Indiana; Anna Marie Zuchelli and husband Mark, Felton, DE; David Nanni and wife Connie, Creekside; Mary Beth Guyer and husband Todd, Ridgway; seven grandchildren - Josh Nanni and wife Lauren, Niki Conner and husband Eric, Rachel Guyer, Luke Guyer, Daniel Winger and wife Cecelia, Charles Chiplis, Laura Chiplis; five great-grandchildren - Caleb Rivers, Eliana and Brianna Nanni, Wyatt and Liam Conner, her brother - David Brown and wife Theresa, Indiana; sister-in-law - Angie Nanni, Washington, DC. She was preceded in death her parents, by her husband Anthony "Toot" Nanni, one great-grandson Ayden Conner, her brothers - Robert, William, Thomas, and sister Fay Stenman. Friends will be received on Sunday from 4 to 8 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10 A.M. at Church of the Resurrection, Ernest, with the Rev. Fr. Timothy Kruthaupt, the celebrant. Interment will be made in the St. Bernard Cemetery, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation, 8085 Saltsburg Rd., Suite 201, Pittsburgh, PA 15239; or the DAV, 1000 Liberty Ave., Room 1606, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
