Bernice V. Shoup's Obituary

Bernice V. Shoup, 79, of Brush Valley, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2010 at St. Andrew's Village. She was born in 1930 to John H.Gray and Pearl Louise (Hummel) Gray in Brush Valley, Indiana County. Bernice was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Brush Valley, where she served as custodian for many years. She lived her entire life in Brush Valley where she was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family, country music, and reading her Bible. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Charles G. Shoup, Bethany Place, Indiana; two sons and two daughters, Charles A. and wife Mary Ann, Saltillo, MS; Dianne K. Dougan and husband William, Brush Valley; Donald C. and wife Joyce, Blairsville; Debra L. Shoup, and fianc Robert ( Buck) Reynolds, Johnstown; Five grandchildren, Jodi Blasi and husband Christopher (Chris), Irwin; Roxanne Mazzeo, Indiana; Curtis Shoup, Blairsville; Sena Hockenberry, Pittsburgh; and Thaddeus (Kris) Hockenberry, Johnstown. Two great grandchildren, Carter Blasi, Irwin; Martin Hanson, Indiana. One brother, D. Howard Gray and wife, Elizabeth, Wellsboro. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister; two brothers, John and Robert Gray; and granddaughter, Tina Marie Craig Duncan. Visitation will be on Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral service will be held at the Brush Valley United Methodist Church at 1:30 PM with Rev. Scott Hamley officiating. Burial will take place in the Brush Valley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary United Methodist Church, P.O.
