Obituary

Barbara J. Ruffner Sharrer, age 82, of Indiana, died on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center. She was born in 1931 in Clymer to Curtis and Louise Martell Brigham. Mrs. Sharrer was an active member of Graystone Presbyterian Church where she participated in the Women's Circle. Barbara was a Sleepy Hollow 4-H Horse Club leader for 25 years, and previously belonged to the Foothills Horse and Pony Club and Trailriders Assoc. Barb was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Barbara is survived by her husband James M. Sharrer, Indiana, three daughters, one daughter-in-law and one son; Dorothy Szentmiklosi and husband Jack, Homer City; Sandi Ruffner Elkin and husband Rick, Indiana; Diana Finn and husband R. Brad, Penn Run; James Ruffner, Indiana; Suzanne Neal and husband Randy, Punxsutawney; three step-children, Kimberly Johnston and husband David, Punxsutawney; Kathleen Clawson and husband Roger, Templeton; Jason Sharrer, Butler; nine grandchildren, Jack Szentmiklosi, Jr. and wife Lori, Jeffrey Szentmiklosi and wife Deana, John David Szentmiklosi, F. Neal Ruffner III and wife Lindsay, Shelley Johnson and husband Jeff, Kristi King and husband Ben, Bob Finn, Kevin Neal, Eric Neal; six step-grandchildren, Emily Blose and husband Justin, Zachary Barrett, Ashley Rahman and husband Faisal, Janelle Geer and husband Freddie, Dylan Clawson, Dominic Sharrer; 16 great grandchildren, Monique Szentmiklosi, Conner Szentmiklosi, Jacob Ruffner, Alexandra Ruffner, Megan Ruffner, Jared Cribbs, Brandon Cribbs, Nathan Cribbs, Ethan Johnson, Caleb Johnson, Khylee Maglione, Karrissa King, Jaydyn Blose, Logan James Remaley, Aydin Rahman, Nora Geer; one sister, Margaret Hull, Marion Center; and numerous nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, by her first husband Floyd N Ruffner, Sr., by her son Floyd N Ruffner, Jr., and by one brother Norman Brigham. Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 A.M. with the Rev. Richard Hurley officiating. Interment will be made in the Oakland Cemetery.
