Obituary

Obituary for Barbara A. Hitchings Barbara A. Hitchings, 68, of Indiana, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ Friday, April 5, 2012. She was born in 1945 to Carl McCoy and Susie (Hess) McCoy in Indiana. Barbara was a member of Full Gospel Assembly of God Church, Indiana. She was a 1963 Graduate of Indiana High School and a Graduate of the Indiana Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. She was formerly the head nurse in the OB unit of the Indiana Hospital for 13 years, where she truly enjoyed helping bring babies into the world. Later she became a Lamaze instructor. Barbara enjoyed spending time by any body of water fishing with her husband and her dog Hope and enjoyed spending time at the trailer at Treasure Lake. Barbara is survived by her husband of 42 years Evan L. Hitchings, Indiana; two grandchildren, Josh and Rachel Snyder; a brother Robert McCoy and wife Melanie, FL; brothers-in-law, Jim Hitchings and wife Betty, Rochester Mills; Bob Hitchings and wife Jan, Indiana; numerous nieces and nephews; friends, Mary Kay Mortimer and Susan Green, Carl and Alberta Marsh, and special friend Barb Chapman. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her step-son Skip Snyder. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home. A funeral will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Ronald L. Sexton officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
