August L. Stango's Obituary

August "Gus" Stango, 83 of Kent, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at his home with his family by his side. He was born in 1932 to Constantino and Teresa (Baroni) Stango in Coal Run. Gus was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd, Kent, Saltsburg American Legion, C&Y Sportsmans Club, Veterans Association of Westinghouse, Blairsville. He retired from Westinghouse, after 34 years on May 1, 1990. Gus enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching sports, cowboy movies, gardening and canning. The joy of his life was his loving wife and spending time with his growing family and especially enjoyed Sunday dinners with his family. He was a Veteran serving with the United States Army in England as an Engineer. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Josephine (Giorgianni) Stango, Kent; two daughters and two sons, John Stango and wife Theresa, Apollo; Teresa Stewart and husband Tim, Kent; Frank Stango and wife Nancy, Greensburg, Connie Maust and husband Brian, Fairport NY; nine grandchildren, John C. Stango and wife DeAnna, Bethany Ryan and husband Doug, Paula Cross and husband Derek, Adam Stewart and girlfriend Kara Headley, Joseph A. Stango, Dominic Stango, Anthony Stango, Andrew Maust, Francesca Maust; 3 great grandchildren, Nicali Stango, Alexander Ryan and Bently Stango, a brother Dino Stango, Warren OH. Preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Nicholas Stango, a brother Olympio Stango, two sisters, Dina Stango and Rena Stango. Visitation will be on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 1:00 PM at Church of the Good Shepherd, Kent. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery. www.bowserminich.com
