Arthur J. Kensey's Obituary

Arthur J. Kensey, age 85, of Indiana, died Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Indiana Regional Medical Center. He was born in 1930 in Lucernemines, to John and Ida Dembosky Kensey. Art was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church, Homer City, the UMWA, the AARP, and Loyal Order of the Moose. He was employed as a coal miner for R&P Coal Co. and also for the Florence Mining Co. for a total of 23 years. Additionally, he was self-employed as a farmer for 20 years before becoming a coal miner. He enjoyed gardening and walking. Art is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marian Cain Kensey, Indiana; one son and one daughter, David A. Kensey, Indiana; Vicki L. Milner and husband Mark, Indiana; four grandchildren, Megan Boslet and husband Scott, Monroeville; D. Adam Kensey, Pittsburgh; Veronica Milner, Pittsburgh; Garrett Milner, Bellefonte; one sister Jean Shadle and husband Lloyd, FL; and one niece Ellen Tannehill, West Palm Beach, FL; one nephew Randall Tannehill, Chicago, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter-in-law Teresa McGinnis Kensey, his sister Ida Tannehill and husband Al, and a brother Ronald Kensey Friends will be received on Tuesday from 3 to 8 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 A.M. at the Hope Lutheran Church, Homer City, with the Rev. Stephen Bond officiating. Interment will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.
