Obituary

Anna M. Deabenderfer, age 76, of Indiana, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, surrounded by her family. She was born in 1937 in Punxsutawney, to Emery Prokay, Sr., and Mary Uveges Prokay. Mrs. Deabenderfer was a member of the Church of the Resurrection, Clymer Site, and was a member of the former Christian Mothers Assoc. She was employed at Valeski's Bi-Lo in Indiana for many years in the bakery and deli. Anna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a smile for everyone she encountered. Anna is survived by seven children, Beverly A. Jewart and husband Michael, Penn Run; George and wife Kathi, Commodore; Brenda Smith, Indiana; Blaine Jr. and wife Frances, Wilmington, NC; Doug, Indiana; Darla Powell, Ernest; Janice Deabenderfer, Indiana; 10 grandchildren, Kenny Jewart and girlfriend Courtney Wilson, Kasey Jewart, Andrew, Erica, and Paulina Deabenderfer, Nicole Ringler and husband Jason, Blaine Deabenderfer, Tiffany Barbee and husband Shane, D.J. and Devin Powell, four great grandchildren, Aubrey Jewart, Camden Ringler, Jordan and Taylor Barbee; three sisters and one brother, Helen Pollock, OH; Margaret Stoudt, NC; Elizabeth Riccardi, OH; Ernest Prokay, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Blaine L. Deabenderfer, Sr., in 1999, by her son in law Larry Smith in 2011; and the following brothers, Steve, George, Emery Jr., Andy, Joe, and John Prokay. Friends will be received on Saturday from 4 to 8 P.M. and on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11 A.M. at the Church of the Resurrection, Clymer, with the Rev. Fr. E. George Saletrik, the celebrant. Interment will be made in the Church of the Resurrection Cemetery, Clymer. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc., 777 Penn Center, Blvd, Suite 200, Pittsburgh, PA 15235.
