Obituary

Allen Donald Leydic, age 9, went Home to our Lord on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 after a battle with cancer. Allen was a third grade student at Eisenhower Elementary School, where he had great connections with his teachers and school nurse. He loved baseball and football, and had a great sense of humor. He loved to learn, paint, and was always thinking about others. Allen was an avid Steeler's fan and Heath Miller fan. He was also a very spiritual child who had a strong connection with God. Through this connection, Allen had an amazing influence with others. He is survived by his parents George and Lynne Leydic, twin brother Anakin, sisters Stephanie, Panama City, FL; Christina and Courtnay, both of Indiana. Allen is also survived by his paternal grandparents Elizabeth Berg, Dover NH; and Edward Berg, Las Vegas, NV; William Leydic, Sierra Vista, AZ; and maternal grandmother Helen Swigel, Greenock, Scotland; along with uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Allen Swigel Viewing will be at Bowser Minich on Friday February 3rd from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday February 4 at 11 A.M. with internment immediately following at Bethel Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be sent to Childrens Hospital of Pittsburgh, who the family thanks for their kindness and care to Allen, or Indiana Hospice. They would also like to thank the US Postal Service, especially the PA Postal service.
