Alfretta M. Helman's Obituary

Alfretta M. Helman, 85, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Indiana Regional Medical Center. She was born in 1929 to LeRoy K. and Bertha B. (Deyarmin) Little in Brush Valley. Alfretta was self employed as a furniture reupholsterer. She was a devoted wife and mother caring for her son Dennis for many years. Alfretta enjoyed making Christmas and Easter candy for family, friends and the Penn Run Presbyterian Church for many years. She was known for decorating her yard for every holiday and making her homemade noodles. Alfretta is survived by a son - Dennis F. Helman, Indiana; a brother - Harry H. Little and wife Nancy, Homer City; a sister - Ruby L. Fletcher, Homer City; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Floyd D. Helman in 2012, three sisters - Geraldine, Laverna, Alverda, and two brothers - Frankie and William. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Meg Marley officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 510 Pellis Road, Suite 203, Greensburg, PA 15601.
