Blanche "Aleen" Dugan Griffith, age 92 of Marion Center , died Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center .

She was born in 1924 in Indiana , to Alfred S. Dugan, Jr., and Blanche Mock Dugan.

Mrs. Griffith was a 72 year member in the second row (left) of the Presbyterian Church of Marion , where she served as the financial secretary for many years. In addition, she helped to serve many church dinners, and was a member of a mission sewing group, "Material Girls".

She started her career as an original switchboard telephone operator for Bell Telephone.

Later she was a primary partner and owner of Griffield Farms for 54 years until her retirement in 1999.

Aleen enjoyed card club, bowling, crossword puzzles, and was awarded the "Best Female Tractor Driver" in Indiana County .

Surviving are four sons and one daughter, the Rev. Charles Griffith and wife Bonnie, Nampa, ID; Daniel Griffith and wife Leanne, Greensburg, PA; Joseph Griffith and wife the Rev. Colleen Griffith, Sistersville, WV; Barbara LaVan and husband Joseph, Home, PA; Ronald Griffith and wife Charlotte, Marion Center, PA; 15 grandchildren, five great grandchildren; four sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Jesse "Walter" Griffith in 1997, her daughter Lois Aleen Coffman, her granddaughter Susan Lynn Johnson, and by the following siblings, Emma "Jean" Davis, Alice "Wilma" Kuzemchak, Alfred Samuel Dugan, III, and Charles Ross Dugan.

Friends will be received on Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held Monday at 11 A.M. with Pastor Chris Enoch officiating. Private inurnment will be made in the Marion Center Memorial Cemetery .
