A. Velia Ruddock's Obituary

A. Velia Ruddock, age 88, of Indiana, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center. She was born in 1921 Indiana Co. to John and Maria Martinig Petricig. Mrs. Ruddock was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church. Mrs. Ruddock was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a lover of animals and cared for many over her lifetime. She also enjoyed traveling and had toured the country by car visiting many of the national parks. Velia is survived by her husband of 65 years, Alex Ruddock, Indiana; by her beloved pets Pixie, Jasper, and Riley; by three daughters, Barbara L. Ferraro and husband David, Wexford; Patricia E. Lundberg and husband Richard, Brush Valley Twp.; Alexa K. Miller, Brush Valley Twp.; by six grandchildren, David Ferraro, Jr. and wife Veronica Santee, Franklin; Alex Boughamer, Moscow, ID; Ian Miller, Pittsburgh; Keith Miller, Brush Valley Twp.; Kira Respet and husband Keith, Armagh; and John Lundberg, Indiana; by nine great grandchildren; and by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, by two sisters and one brother, Gilda Duca, Onorena Bendis, Melio Petricig, and by a nephew Rogers Bendis. Friends will be received on Sunday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held Monday at 11 A.M. with the Rev. Brad Lauster officiating. Interment will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Indiana Co. Humane Society, or to Four Footed Friends.
