A. Ruth Liegey, age 86 , Indiana, joined her beloved husband, Dr. Francis W. Liegey, on November 3rd, 2012. She was born in 1926 in Brantley, Alabama to Walton and Lucie McDaniel Weed. Ruth was the devoted and loving mother of daughters Cindy Renault (George) of Williamsburg, Virginia, Pam Palmer (Rick) and Janet Martin (Bill) both of Indiana, Joan Beck (Dave) of Owego, NY, Mary Tucker (Jeff) of Marion Center, and Chris Mathe (Tom) of Indiana. Grandchildren include Molly Russell, Tim Palmer, George Renault IV, Traci Petty, Allyson Hartley, Megan Martin, Lucy Renault, Jessica Walker, Morganne Shute, Madelyn Peterman, Michelyn Foreback, Travis Tucker, Lexy Mathe and Will Martin. She was also adored by 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Nell Armbruster, Pensacola, FL. Ruth was very active in the St Thomas-More University Parish and throughout her life had been involved in many community organizations including Meals-On-Wheels, Girl Scouts and the IUP Women's organizations. Family and faith were Ruth's greatest passions and fulfillments. Through example Ruth taught those around her always to live with an open and forgiving heart. Mom, "Mum Mum," and "GiGi" will greatly missed. Family and friends are invited to celebrate a funeral mass on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 10 A.M. at St. Thomas More University Parish, Indiana, with the Rev. Fr. Michael Sikon the celebrant. Inurnment will be made in the St. Bernard Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice, 850 Hospital Rd., Suite 3000, Indiana, PA 15701; or St. Thomas More University Parish, 1200 Oakland Ave., Indiana, PA 15701.
