Obituary

Anita Joyce Galentine, age 65, of Home, went to be with her Lord on February 15, 2013 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center. She was born in 1947 in Bonne Terre, MO, to Virgil and Norma Jean Brown Lawson. Joyce was a member of the Old Mahoning Baptist Church, Home, where she had taught Sunday School and was a youth leader. She had a deep faith in God and over the years enjoyed her fellowship and visits with friends, the blessings of her Savior, and believed in the power of prayer. She enjoyed spending time with her family and adored her grandchildren. She instilled a deep love of God, family, and country in her family. She also enjoyed reading and discussing politics. Joyce is survived by her husband of 47 years, George J. Galentine, Home; three sons and two daughters, James J. and wife Judith, York; Anita M. Johnston and husband Donald, Punxsutawney; David W., Hanover; Michael G. and wife Justine, Wrightsville; Elizabeth S. Galentine, Home; and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her brother Robert Lawson and her sister Cheryl Ann Bess. Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Old Mahoning Baptist Church, Home, where a funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 A.M. with Pastors Edward Bailey and Micah McMillen officiating. Interment will be made in the Church Cemetery.
